Less than 1200 letters when we usually used to have 2200 or more.

When I find a letter Up for Grabs that I want I 'like' it and switch to another tab where I have 'Find Letters' open. I work my way through the letters until I get a popover ad (or possibly find another letter I need) then I know it's safe to open the Up for Grabs letter. After the ad comes up the next link you click should be OK.

I just go ahead and send - that takes care of them for a week or more and I still get to keep their nests for hunting.

I noticed there are much fewer Up For Grabs letters available. Perhaps people are making fewer posts which is OK. If you're grabbing letters you don't need that's not really OK since it means others won't find letters they need. If you're that hard up for getting points grab the 5 day old letters which will expire at reset rather than the up for grabs letters I just posted.

sometimes there don't appear to be any locked letters at all in the nests/boxes

Thanks everyone for postihng Up for Grabs. I needed to use 4 letters from the Up for Grabs for my mission when I didn't find them in the regular area.

Just saying - I usually keep everyone even when they stop playing because I want more nests to collect eggs. Every so often I send gold to hundreds of inactive people but that's OK.

I try to avoid losing letters by hunting eggs/letters in a second tab until I get a popup then I claim what I want from the activity page. Then it's safe for me to grab an egg or maybe two.

Sorry I'm not even in top 50 but I keep friends because I need their nests for hunting. I guess I could get to top 50 if I played more but I'm having fun getting my word and EODs once a day. Not coming at you but giving a different point of view. Maybe it would be make things more equal if there were a limit on locked eggs you could collect or something but IDK because I use my gold on the word game.
