I like to help friends by posting Up for Grabs letters. I also try to send to people I know are playing.
I prefer to send gold letters to people who need them, preferably to people who have sent to me. If you've sent to me I try to reciprocate but may eventually send a letter you don't need if I don't find letters you do need.

I usually find all the Eggs of the Day a couple hours after reset. I will IGNORE eggs of the day sent to me later because they are useless to me. Please post them instead

Egg Machine is at the bottom of the 'Find Eggs' page. I didn't figure spending a few coins was that much. I spend most of my coins in Joy Words.

You could be lazy like me and post less than 50 eggs to the feed.
People can use letters posted to finish their words, and get EODs that they haven't been able to find. They can't use the posted eggs for missions though.

You can use a gold letter on your word then hit back on your browser and send it to someone else who needs it. I don't usually click gold letters I don't need.

If I find an "S" or an "L" and I don't need it, is it better to post it or to leave it for someone else to find? Just wondering.
I found an 'S' and needed it so I took it, but I also went back and posted it as well.

I usually do. I have a lot of 'friends' who left the game but I kept them so I can get eggs; they may not see much traffic. The sooner I post a letter the faster the 'nest' can replenish.

In Joy Eggs I'm happy to be in the top 100. In Egg Buddies, top 1000. So I won't see many badges. In Egg Buddies I got the 100,000 once (for the badge) in the month they announced they were going to have the gold coins expire and I wanted to spend down what I had before they expired.

If you find the letter in someone's letterbox or if they send it to you, you can use it more than once, true. The Up For Grabs letters can only be used once though. (And if you get a popup ad when you collect it, you lose it - grrrr!)

If that was the K for BACKSTROKE I had trouble too. I gave up on it until my next mission. I found a K this time and posted it after I used it, then posted a second one I found. Sometimes luck takes time to kick in

I look at the game page because they may not be in the top 50. I've started trying to keep track of who sends gold but some may only be playing JoyEggs and not words. If you can remember who's posting up for grabs those people would likely be active. The ones with game names with outdated months/years are probably inactive.

Karen, in Joywords the letters posted can be used by anyone. Maybe you don't think someone wants an 'X' for instance but sometimes they do. They keep the letters there for as long as 5 days so it's not like the letters are being pushed off.

In the FB-linked Egg Buddies I started keeping a list of people who sent me gold, not to punish those who don't but because gold senders are more likely to be active.
