Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hoven Funeral Home, Inc. - Buchanan on Jan. 8, 2024.
Patricia Lynn Havard, also known affectionately as Patty, was born on the 14th of March, 1955, in La Porte, Indiana. With a charisma that was both refreshing and captivating, Patricia's compassion towards those around her was her trademark. A woman of substance, she was a beacon of love, generosity, dedication, and faith, leaving no heart untouched. Patricia's life was a testament to the verse in Proverbs 31:26, "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."
Patricia was a dessert chef, making a difference in the world one sweet treat at a time. Her culinary prowess extended beyond her professional life, as she graciously baked pies for Thanksgiving dinners and cooked meals for her beloved Lighthouse Village Church, where she was a devout member. A lover of nature, Patricia took joy in feeding the wildlife outside her home in Three Oaks, Michigan. Equally passionate about literature, she had a special fondness for romance novels. Patricia's generosity knew no bounds; even in passing, she continued to give, donating her organs to the Gift of Life of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Patricia is survived by her sister Gwendolyn Moore; and her brother Mark Moore, with his wife Karen, aunts Verdean Gray, Jetta Masters, and Jackie Bonifate. She was survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father James Wise, her mother Dovoe Moore, her stepfather Edward Moore, her sisters Joy Snyder and Betty Tricker, her grandparents Fred and Etta Elliott and Lillie Elliott, and her aunts Christine Hardy, Irene Waybright, and AJ Koss. Patricia's loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. Her radiant smile, her infectious laughter, and her endless love will forever echo in the hearts of her loved ones.
In honor of Patricia's life and her unwavering spirit of generosity, we encourage you to share your memories of her on the memorial page. Your photos, stories, and tributes will help keep her light shining bright in our hearts. Let us remember Patricia Havard, not just for her life well-lived, but for the love she gave, the joy she spread, and the difference she made in the world. "Go rest high on the mountain for your work here on earth is done."
