I like to help friends by posting Up for Grabs letters. I also try to send to people I know are playing.
I prefer to send gold letters to people who need them, preferably to people who have sent to me. If you've sent to me I try to reciprocate but may eventually send a letter you don't need if I don't find letters you do need.

In JoyEggs I post letters and Eggs of the Day. I don't need you to send me random eggs or Eggs of the Day.

Some people never send coins because they are not playing. They don't collect coins you send either but after a while the coins you sent expire and the inactive friends come up again on the 'send to friends' list. I don't worry about it.

Stuck yesterday looking for 'L' and 'S'. Hunting today I found both the letters I needed on the same page. Sometimes you can get lucky.

If people are collecting the gold you send they should send gold back. Some people are not playing and their names come up on the gold list when the coins you sent previously expire. I have a lot of inactive players (like to hunt their letter boxes and nests) so I don't worry about if everyone sends me gold back.

If you don't have your regular missions open a long time it can be hard to have an opportunity to send letters - your schedules need to sync, they need to click on letters you need, etc. Gold letters are worse since there are so few (or sometimes none).

Needed 2 S's since yesterday. Found one which I also posted - quickly claimed by someone else. It's not like we get a huge number of points for the words so I guess we can wait a few days to complete them if needed. Hate those Ss and Ls though.

Not more than once every 24 hrs I think - but they also need to accept the gold before you can send more.

Click on your profile link on the upper right - in the menu select 'Gold Coins'. That page has an inventory of your gold including if any is expiring.

Egg Machine is at the bottom of the 'Find Eggs' page. I didn't figure spending a few coins was that much. I spend most of my coins in Joy Words.
